Now this is where we could go into great detail about the history of the animals depicted in this game, and the reasons for their battles. But since nobody actually cares, and even fewer people will read this, we'll simply explain how to play the game of Mutton. Two teams of animals battle it out in a series of one-on-one 'jousts' (for lack of a better word) over a rugged terrain. One player controls the blue team, and the other (or computer stand-in) controls the red team. For some reason that may never be explained, these normally land-bound animals have the ability to fly - so much so that they have forgotten how to walk, and thus any form of contact with the ground will terminate their pitiful existence and cause a replacement from their team to take their place. When one team is completely wiped out, the opposing team is declared the winner. It should be noted that these animals have certain aerodynamic capabilities. They will lose speed when climbing or turning, and even stall if their speed drops too low. For this reason, try to fly in a straight line whenever possible to keep their speed up. Various bird-based weapons are available to help these animals wage war. Now, these are handily suspended beneath party balloons which will occasionally float across the battlefield. Animals can arm themselves by simply flying beneath one of these balloons. Only one weapon can be held at any one time. Once a weapon has been acquired, the animal should position itself near the enemy and launch their projectile. When an animal is hit, it is fragmented into another dimension, and the next animal in line from that team comes into play. Weapons also tend to cause some damage to the landscape.
